Amanah has identified a fresh candidate to contest the Shah Alam parliamentary seat in the 15th general election, replacing its former MP Khalid Samad.
Khalid, who is Amanah communications director, hinted that the candidate was from the party grassroots and among the party’s up-and-coming leaders.
“The candidate who has been identified is someone from the grassroots, someone who has been in Shah Alam even before I was the MP.
“I have been Shah Alam MP for three terms and during this term, we have developed our second line of leaders.
“I think it’s time for me to make way for them to take over,” he said.
Meanwhile, Khalid is expected to contest in the Titiwangsa seat.
